CFPB’s mortgage-complaint system accepts consumer filings

Jan. 11, 2012—Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today said its mortgage complaint system is running and accepting consumer complaint filings. Consumers who have questions or specific complaints that are related to their experience with the foreclosure process, mortgage documents or mortgage lenders can contact CFPB at 855/411-2372 or go to help.consumerfinance.gov/app/mortgage/ask.

CFPB will forward complaints to the proper financial institution for resolution. The institution is expected to respond to CFPB within 15 days and to resolve most consumer concerns within 60 days.

Consumers can check the status of their complaint at help.consumerfinance.gov/app/mortgage/ask.
